Mount Eden House

For this project we worked on the restoration an early 1900’s villa, which had been on the receiving end of many poorly judged renovations throughout its life.

This restoration process became the main aspect of the brief. We have included a before photo of  how the house looked before we started this process. Reinstating the original villa appearance was critical to our clients an re-engaging the house with the heritage streetscape with which it sits.

The design for the rear part of the house was given more freedom and a traditional lean-to addition with contemporary aspects was added. A new deck, pergola and outdoor fireplace were also added, along with new landscaping throughout the property.

We have been fortunate to have a second opportunity to work on this house. We are currently in the design stages with a construction date set down for early 2020. The proposed design includes a wrap around veranda addition at the front and a modern addition replaces the lean-to at the rear.
